Groomed Trails "I", "F", and "D"

12/21/09 Trails: "I", "F", and "D" were groomed today. The Warming Hut is now fully open and the cell phone trial worked for all phones except Nextel. The system is wireless, so no hooking up required. If your phone allows---internet and email in the Warming Hut! System will be ordered and installed as soon as possible. We will keep you posted. The snow is very thin from the Jonesville parking lot up the first mile or so and then continually deepens. Very close now.....

We are nearing start time for the Groomers---Posts will begin Monday Evening. Usually a morning post followed by an evening post updating conditions, trails groomed, pictures, etc..... The warming hut will be fully open beginning this Monday (Dec. 21) with the BBQs ready for use and the facility available to all and will remain so for the entire snowmobile season. In the coming weeks we will be adding to the warming hut a cell phone booster setup that should help with all cell services with the exception of Nextel. Also through the season we will concentrate on the prep and packing down of a helicopter pad. Sheriff and Enloe pilots are encouraged to give us input if something needs to change. Lat and Lon are posted in the warming hut with a larger map and a YOU ARE HERE STATEMENT. Smaller maps are available there for your use as well. We are always open to suggestions and ideas and are always glad to stop and talk. Have a safe and enjoyable snowmobile season-----enjoying our section of a Winter Wonderland ---- The Lassen National Forest.

Trails: "B", "D", "F" and "I" were groomed today.

One Groomer was out today. Beautiful day and HEAVY snow at higher elevations --4 foot of new powder on trail "B". As can be seen, the lower elevations have less, however, Fanni Meadows had the only road areas showing. Our grooming schedule is as follows: tomorrow (Tuesday 3/24--trails: "B", "D", "F", and "I") and Wednesday 3/25--trails: "I", "G", and "A". Grooming will END for THIS SNOW YEAR on this Wednesday (3/25). Lassen National Forest will open to wheeled vehicles on April 1st and the gate at Jonesville Snowmobile Park will be opened April 1st as well. The road past the gate and through Jonesville will be graded open to the "Y" intersection by April 1st as well. Your Groomers look forward to the next snow season----see you then. No further updates of this blog will be made until next snow season.
