Monday, March 15, 2010
Trails: "B", "D","F", and "I" are being groomed today.
One groomer was out today and looking at the warm temps forecasted for the days ahead, today could be the last day of grooming for this season. So far this season our Bombardier has been out 49 days and the Tucker 31 days. Also, Jim has groomed 40 days, Clint has groomed 19 days and Dan has groomed 16 days. We started grooming in mid Dec 09 and now it is March 15 ---3 months. The Trails are wide and hard packed and should be ok for a week or so, perhaps more. In fact snow could stick around for weeks at the lower elevations and months at the higher elevations! The snows this season have been !!!!!! unbelievable !!!!!! The Lassen National Forest is indeed a Winter wonderland! -----So as your groomers sign off we ask that you be safe on the trails and we look forward to seeing you next snow season.

Monday, March 8, 2010
Groomed Trails "I", "F" and "D" and "C" to Hwy 89 today.
3/8/10 Update: Both Groomers were out today. As soon as we got to Hwy 89 (Trail "C") today, it started snowing and by the time we got back to Fannini Meadows it was snowing hard. About half way back to the warming hut and all the way to the shed it was a full snow storm minus the wind!!!!! We were lucky to see 100 ft in front of us!!!! Anyway the trails completed today are perfect and a heavy freeze tonight, and it was of course snowing as we left....It just doesn't get any better.. Check out yesterday's parking lot picture and this afternoon's.....-We will return tomorrow and do trail "A".

Groomed Trail "B" today.
3/4/10 Update: One groomer was out today. Conditions remain unbelievable! Special Note: The Warming Hut is out of kindling until the groomers arrive this Sunday!. Plenty of wood, you just need a fire starter block or something until we get there Sunday....At this point, grooming of trails for snowmobiles will continue into April...and the Forest Service Law Enforcement personnel and Butte County Sheriff remind all, these groomed trails are closed to any and all Wheeled Vehicles as long as trails are being groomed.....>again the snow levels are just unbelievable and it just keeps coming!
